Celebrated every March, International Women’s Day is a promotion of gender equality across the globe. Helping to drive our growth as a global payment services provider are a range of talented women with extensive skillsets. In this piece, the female executives that make our company tick share their tips on how to succeed as a woman in business.

Zlatina Tuneva, Head of Treasury

“Have a curious mindset and seek to keep challenging yourself. Nobody is going to set a career path for you, so you need to take the initiative to drive your own future. While you’ll reap the rewards from the work you put in, it’s also important to strike a good work-life balance. Not taking any time to yourself will only lead to stress and burnout, so know when to take a step back.”

Yanitsa Georgieva, Head of Legal & Compliance

“Do what you do best. We, as women, are gifted with our infallible sixth sense. So, when in doubt, don’t be scared to make a leap of faith. It might end up being the greatest thing you ever do, and if it isn’t then it’s not the end of the world. “Women become figureheads by using their heart. Put your heart into everything you do and be kind, sharing and generous. This attitude won’t go unnoticed.”

Iliana Donova, Head of Product Development

“Kill them with competence. We hear a lot about kindness, which of course is important. But how you utilise your skillset and knowledge, along with your work ethic, will make you stand out in your profession. Knowing your industry and remaining informed are your best friends in this instance. “As well as your strengths, be sure to understand your own personality traits. Don’t try to be somebody else, because you will get found out. Through being genuine, your true passions and competence in said fields will shine through.”

Kety Oliveira, VP Marketing

“Positivity and a ‘can do’ attitude go a long way. As the old saying goes, where there’s a will there’s a way. Perseverance is the name of the game when it comes to long-term success. “Companies in the top quartile for gender and ethnic diversity are more likely to have financial returners above the industry benchmark. Go the extra mile, influence the industry you work in and add value when doing so. “Your intuition is important – use it. By also being confident and yourself, your hard work will be noticed.”
