Balkan Ruby Conference – 25 – 26 May, 2018 – Sofia, Bulgaria

The development of innovative technology is at the heart of the Ruby/Rails community. Ruby has a vibrant community and as a passionate member, we take part by delivering multiple projects, giving the opportunity to many dedicated engineers to grow with us.

Rubyists and Ruby enthusiasts are getting involved in more and more conferences, where they get together to discuss the future of Ruby and share ideas. So, when we found out that the Balkan Ruby Conference was coming to town we had to get involved!

We sat down for a quick chat with Svetlozar Mihaylov, one of the Balkan Ruby event organisers, to find out more about this exciting event and how you can get involved. More on the schedule here.

1. What is the main focus of the Balkan Ruby Conference?

We don’t get many Ruby events in our region, so with Balkan Ruby, we’re aiming to start a brand new international conference and introduce the local Ruby communities to the world. We’d like to put ourselves on the map, exchange ideas with developers from Europe and all over the world and have fun as well!

2. Who will be attending?

We are joined by attendees from 14+ different countries (Bulgaria, Poland, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Serbia, Russia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Japan, United States and Nigeria). We welcome all levels of experience including those who are just starting to develop their career path within the Ruby framework.

3. Tell us about the emerchantpay/Balkan Ruby partnership.

Our partnership with emerchantpay started back in 2016 with your contribution to and involvement in the Sofia edition of EuRuKo. As a dedicated community player, you were the first to support the Balkan Ruby conference, and we’re delighted to have you on board. Your ongoing support and involvement will help us to continue to organise more community events around Ruby and its satellite technologies.

If you want to develop your career with us and start contributing to emerchantpay’s Ruby/Rails stack check out our open positions here.
